Concubine Peonia Silk Pendant
Concubine Peonia Silk Pendant. Concubine Peonia (peony concubine) is a subtler variation of the Imperial lamp. The Fortuny® Concubine Peonia silk lamp (peony concubine) is a subtler variation of the Imperial lamp. It evokes the allure of Oriental culture and has the same triangle and square pattern bound by fiery red thread – but the shape is more reserved than its Imperial counterpart. The simple wood structure protects the silk and enhances its silvery patterns.
The lightness of the opaline silk, the refined decoration and the balance of the silhouettes merge together, creating true sculptures of light. Perpetuating the tradition, Venetia Studium continues to produce these wonderful lamps. Evoking almost fairytale places and times, Fortuny lamps are the result of research into lighting, design and ways of filtering light. Thanks to the particular structure and various models proposed, they fit in with any style of décor, completely satisfying the needs of good illumination and giving the space a soft, evocative and timeless atmosphere.

Enjoying the Venetia Studium’s lighting objects one can experience the fusion of culture sensitively carried by Fortuny, there are Spanish, Persian, Islamic, classical Greek, Renaissance and the great Venetian Art of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. Among all, the strongest influences from the western culture are Spanish, as Mariano Fortuny was born in Granada, the ancient Moorish Capital of Spain; and Italian, as he resided in Venice since 1889 until his Fortuny’s blood as a Spanish origin. While Arabic was the strongest non-Western culture to him.
