Chandeliers That Set the Mood
Our Italian chandeliers are made to order and give a room its character before anyone sits down. For example, a silk chandelier softens a dining room, while a tiered glass design brings sparkle to a stairwell. In addition, many models come in several sizes.
Fortuny Silk Chandeliers and Italian Glass Chandeliers
Icaro and Scheherazade are our most viewed chandeliers. The Fortuny collection, handmade in Venice, includes the Scheherazade, Samarkanda, Scudo Saraceno and Cesendello chandeliers, in hand-printed silk or blown glass. Meanwhile, Giotto, Doge and Fenice offer classic Italian shapes. Finally, Moon, Flat and Swing bring a lighter, contemporary look.
How to Choose Chandeliers
Size. As a quick rule, add the length and width of the room in feet; the result, in inches, is a good chandelier diameter. Over a dining table, however, choose about half to two thirds of the table width.
Height. Hang chandeliers about 30–36 inches (75–90 cm) above a dining table. In open areas, on the other hand, keep at least 7 feet (2.1 m) of clearance below.
Light. Silk shades give a warm, diffused glow, whereas glass and crystal sparkle. In addition, a dimmer lets one chandelier work for dinner and for cleaning up.
