How to Choose Nightstands
Height. As a rule, nightstands should be level with the top of the mattress, or up to 2 inches (5 cm) lower.
Storage. Drawers hide books and chargers, whereas open shelves keep things in reach. Therefore, think about what you keep by the bed.
Pairs. Matching nightstands create symmetry. However, two different pieces in the same finish can feel more personal.
