How to Choose Wall Sconces

Height. As a guide, mount wall sconces at about 60–66 inches (150–170 cm) from the floor, roughly at eye level.

Spacing. In hallways, space them 8–10 feet (2.5–3 m) apart. Beside a mirror, on the other hand, place them at face height on both sides.

Light. Glass and silk diffuse light gently, whereas metal shades direct it up or down.
