Oceanfront Residence

PALM BEACH, FLORIDA

This interior design project in Palm Beach brought a newly restored oceanfront residence on the island back to life. Our interior designers in Palm Beach created a full design concept, from the main living spaces to the cabana and home office. Every room draws on the colors of the ocean outside: crisp white, warm sand and deep cobalt blue.

A Living Room Designed Around the Ocean

First, we redesigned the living spaces entirely. A custom sectional sofa anchors the room, and a custom 15 x 25 foot rug repeats its blues and ivories. The scattered coffee tables sit on hidden wheels, so they are easy to rearrange. In fact, one of them is an ottoman that doubles as an extra seat. Meanwhile, the custom sideboard hides 13 drawers, each one finished and fitted for the client’s own collection.

Hand-Embroidered Linens for the Dining Room

In the dining area, a round table sits beside a blue upholstered banquette. The client also asked us to create several sets of hand-embroidered linens to match their Hermès tableware. As a result, the tablecloths, napkins and place mats all echo the chain pattern of the porcelain.

A Cabana for Guests

We also designed the home’s cabana, which doubles as a guest room. Its sofa opens into an occasional bed, and all the textiles are made for an indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Like those in the living room, the two coffee tables move easily on wheels. Their glass tops are lined with coordinating fabric, so the color palette flows through the entire oceanfront residence.

Home Office and Library

The home office features custom armchairs in Armani/Casa fabrics, paired with matching upholstered ottomans and a custom rug. The custom leather desk has carefully detailed drawers, including one for the printer, and the desk chair uses the same leather. Finally, we turned the adjoining closet into a small library, with backlit shelves and a glass top lined in Armani/Casa fabric.

Every detail of this Palm Beach interior design project was made for the way the family lives by the sea. See more of our work in the portfolio, or contact our studio to talk about your own home.
